CUBE IN: Culture Journey to Mexico

In November, in the frame of the EAMSE funded project CUBE IN, icunet offered a unique chance to explore the Mexican market, its culture and its specifies to a group of European SMEs active in the solar sector.

The aim of this journey was to show the foreign, but growing Mexican market to the participants, to establish contacts and to see Mexican innovation from a different cultural perspective.

During the 6-day programme, participants could learn about cultural difference in the business world in a training delivered by experienced trainers. In the following meetings and company visits participants could use this new knowledge to establish contacts to Mexican business partners. Representatives from the public energy agencies explained the regulations of the energy market and especially the solar market, which participants could see in practice when visiting local companies.

One of the highlights of this journey, was the visit of Módulo Solar in Cuernavaca. The group visited the production line and the innovation centre of this successful Mexican producer of solar thermal heaters. The group could exchange during the whole day with the CEO.

The visit of Enlight was fascinating due to the very open and positive working climate at this company and the data- and app-based customer solutions and products.

But not only Mexican companies were visited, also Goldbeck Solar, a German company, which successfully entered the Mexican market was visited. Experiences and best practices were shared.

Participants could gather a lot of innovative ideas, which they brought back to their European companies and will try to implement in the home market or the Mexican market.

“I would definitely recommend this programme to all Small Businesses which would like to enter to [new] markets, because this was really accelerating. If small Business go to […] markets just like that, it could take a long time to get all the information, but if you have somebody who can guide you a little bit, it’s much faster” Albert Fikacek, ENERGON, Czech Republic

This journey was the third out of five, organised by icunet in the frame of the CUBE IN project, finanzed by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (EASME). Two more journeys are scheduled:
